Cleaning up the cylinders

Looking for the best way to clean up the cylinders the heads been off this vehicle for 14 years it's not seized up not overly Rusty going to try to post a pic just some surface rust would like to know the best way to clean it up

Cylinder hone. Best way to clean those up. Put some oil down those pistons just in case if it has a hard time moving.

I would pull the engine and rebuild it. Who knows what could've gotten in some of the waterjackets or other places. 

 

If you don't want to rebuild it, I'd buy a running Jeep with a 4.0 and swap it in. If you have a Renix, I'd try to find a 87-90.

Thank you for the info I found some acorns and other stuff so I am going to pull the motor and I have to try to find someone in Michigan that will rebuild it

Thanks for the info I'm going to do as much cleaning up as I can myself and then pull the motor and hopefully find someone rebuild it needs a new rear main seal anyway

puul it out and do a proper rebuild, if you try to move it like this something is going to break...

 

soak it entirely in oil for a week if neccesary but don't try to turn it with all that rust there

Thanks I'm going to pull the motor probably send it somewhere to have it rebuilt the rear main is leaking so that needs to be replaced anyway I'll try to clean it out as much as I can before I send it out
