youngfred
... What is the best way to secure small Tweeters at each end of the Lower Dash Panel. The connection points back there are only small rectangles with no threads. I don't want to use the wrong retainers and then have the speakers falling out. Thanks, youngfred
Warren Mohler
The factory tweeters attached with small screws into those rectangles the wires should already be there if not not too hard to run them, I installed it set in mine not too long ago. I believe I have another set both tweeters I would sell
fiatslug87
Wiring is not there in the MJs, XJs had the wiring. The factory tweeters sit in brackets that attach to the back of the knee panel.
youngfred
... I have a pair of OEM Tweeters with each of the splitter harnesses that also run to each door speaker and with the correct end connectors. I am looking for a good retainer that will hold the speakers in place and not let go. I am trying to avoid using the wrong size/type screw and ruin those small rectangles. ghetdjc320
In custom setups we use “universal backstrap”. You can but it at crutchfield and sometimes the local hardware store has a similar material that works

Usually called something like "hanger strapping" or similar.
youngfred
... Thanks for the Backstrap idea. That would work with bare tweeters. I have the OEM Cherokee tweeters with the strap mounting being a part of the speakers. Found a photo that shows the Cherokee tweeters mounded to the lower dash panel. Those mounting screws are the ones that I am looking for. Thanks again, youngfred
