Dash wire identification help

Recommended Posts

Have a few cable I need Identifying with. Any help is appreciated.

With the radio wires, I see the "AMC" wire harness but plugged into those 2 plugs I see another 2 type of harnesses. Are the second set of plugs the current color coded cables newer radios use?1ba56c9478a3d6cc2256bc3e656b6497.jpg48e29cd41b7d2edb752fa10202636cfa.jpgc8b7438e2591eabe680687c45aae3cf6.jpga7fa72bb272392be40ec3f6a6fe14fb4.jpg36bc8d9120fe3503e30c23f40fb0138d.jpg

First pic-courtesy lights
second pic- fog lamp, cargo lamp and the lights for the switch panel
third pic- ash tray lamp
fourth pic- cigar lighter lamp
What type light bulb for the courtesy light?
With fog lamp wiring, does that mean I have the wiring for fog lamps?
Cargo lights for Cherokee only?
How do I connect the ash tray/cigar lights to them? They have nothing for me to connect the wires to. 21424299153aee9724a5bf9052caaa2b.jpg20d3ae1635c1a072421331162b27b09a.jpg

These are the courtesy lamps:

To cut costs AMC just had all the wiring there for everything inside the cab. So you may or may not have the fog lamp harness behind the grill. If you don't, it is easy to make your own harness and tie it in to that switch. Cargo lamps are MJ only, its a lamp that sits above the rear window of the cab and illuminates the bed.

The ash tray lamp looks like this:

The cigar lighter lamp i can't find a pic of at the moment but it plugs into the single spade and has a housing the directs light on to the green ring of the lighter assembly and and clips onto it.

The original radio harness is intact. The mess with the crimp caps is plugged into it. The original radios for 1984 through 1987 had wires hanging out of them, as opposed to 1988 and later, when the vehicle's harness usually plugged directly into the radio.

The plug with all 8 pins populated goes to the speakers, and the other one is power, illumination, and ground. This is a diagram of the radio's connections - so the connector that says "POWER" on this diagram is actually the "SPEAKER" connector on your truck.

Here's what the 1986-1987 radios looked like. They had several inches of wire coming out of the radio, which plugged into the truck. This one is connected to an adapter for the later style of plug.
