I know there used to some produced by some manufactures. I am looking for a set either metal or fiberglass. I love the way the stock tail lights look and I would hate to bust them up on a trail when someone else can use them for their project that won't see the potential damage.

So I would consider trading stock tail lights for the tail light boxes

I would think that a successful tail light box would be able to have the lamps show from the side of the vehicle as well as the rear. I'm pretty sure that is a law...

rustys offroad used to make them 2 years ago to accept standard oval trucklites, but I called they don't have any stock and aren't making them anymore :(

here's a look at them from the web-archive http://web.archive.org/web/20170718131139/http://www.rustysoffroad.com/rustys-metal-tail-light-housings-pair-mj-commanche.html

if you find someone making I'm definitely interested too!

Yeah when I first got my mj three years ago I was on the fence about the boxes and never got em. and here we are now lol

That seems like the right answer, just don't know hoe the jk taillights would look on the back of an mj

Yeah, the pics he has of this version are hard to tell, but hopefully he'll have more out soon.

I just placed a order for a set of the boxes. When they come in within the next month or so I'll be sure to share pictures of how they look. My tail lights look like they have been hit with a sand blaster and anything will be better than what I have.

Definitely let us know how it goes. I know there is a guy on facebook that makes fiberglass boxes for about $200 or 300 a set.
