The column in it is not tilt and it sure does make it nice when on longer drives to be able to adjust that once in a while. I plan to spend a lot of time driving it once done... The wheel doesn't matter, I've got a newish one that looks really good. Stupid mice ate mine up...

silvertwinkiehobo Posted June 23, 2020 Posted June 23, 2020 The columns are painted metal, so with removal and proper prep, you could paint it. That way, you keep the original column, and you'd only need to find a black wheel and horn button.

schardein Posted June 25, 2020 Posted June 25, 2020 Keep in mind the type of ignition key changed at some point. If you want to keep your original key by switching over the lock cylinder, you need a compatible steering column.
Minuit Posted June 25, 2020 Posted June 25, 2020 Ignition type changed in 91. You may be able to swap a 90 down ignition cylinder into a 91 or newer column, but I don't think the older columns have the provisions for the newer ignition cylinder. Old style are retained by a screw. New style are retained by a spring loaded bar.
