Comavalanche
Does anyone here home-brew anything? I've been brewing for about six months now and my beers are starting to turn out drinkable.
87MJTIM
I started in 92-93. Started with extract on a stove and now have a 3 tier, 10 gal system.
Pete M
My uncle is in to that. His stuff is always great! even grew his own hops last year.
Smokeyyank
Buddy and I gave it a stab a few years back doing LME and it was awful. Probably in large part because we were so spoiled with all the craft beers. Eventually will get back into it but too many hobbies going on to do it it right. plus no shortage of good beers in the fridge.

I am currently using propane and doing 2 gallon batches. What's your favorite style to brew?

I would be interested to know more about growing hops. My buddy wants to start growing them in the summer but we don't know much about it.

I was trying to brew a simple IPA but it turned out looking like a porter lmao. I feel you though, I have my Comanche set up to where I want it now so that means more time for other hobbies
87MJTIM
I like making and drinking lagers: pilsners, bocks and double bocks. My wife loves IPA. Stouts and porters are great, also. I tried many different styles through years. Some styles I don't care for: wheats, fruits, sours, gose. Some styles are so over the top, that I don't care for. Some people like them. That's OK. Two breweries that make over the top styles IMHO are Dog Fish Head and Flying Dog Flying Dog is local to me. I go there often. They make some great beers. They also make over the top beers. A little brewery near my house just got a slow pour pilsner tap and it's my favorite beer they have now.
