500 MJ Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 My brother and I are working on his ‘86. Discovered that the alternator bracket was broken and just put back together many miles ago. Wondering if anyone has one they will part with for the right price? Otherwise we do have the ability to put time and welding toward this one to fix it... Would need to be shipped to 48618. Thanks!

500 MJ Posted January 2, 2020 Author Posted January 2, 2020 Thanks - I did look at it and it did not exactly match the one we have. The one we have has the fitting for inserting a half inch drive ratchet to tension the serp belt. I'm 4 states away from the truck now and it's my brothers anyway. We'll see if anything shows up, I'll keep watching here and elsewhere online. I've also got some yards to hit here in WI and I'm guessing that I've got a good chance to find it at one of them. If not it'll probably get the welding treatment to properly repair.
eaglescout526 Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 Try looking at the 4.2L on CJ’s and YJ’s. They used the same bracket for the AC and Alt on the 2.5L up until 86 but the 4.2L has it until Chrysler stopped putting it in YJ’s in ‘90
