COM86 Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 I need a Factory air box and snorkel for a 2.5. My 86 snorkel split and died. Unfortunately living in California, if it doesn't look Factory, smog people have a cow.

eaglescout526 Posted January 12, 2020 Posted January 12, 2020 Big difference. The 4.0L goes from the box and bends straight down to the TB. The 2.5L has the hose go from the box to the TB and has a special bonnet. I have a whole box I would be willing to part with. I'm gonna do a detail to it to make it look damn good, if you want the box too.
Liketosmash Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 Took a look at the factory boxes for the 1988 4.0L and 1987 2.5L last night and the boxes are very similar but have a few different locations for some of the vacuum lines. I definitely have a spare 2.5L snorkel but may be using the 2.5L airbox box bottom or top with the 4.0L to eliminate some of the vacuum line mess. Just not sure yet.
