battery drainage

The other day I was monkeying around the fuse panel of my 87 comanche putting fuses in their correct places and taking bad fuses out. Tried starting it a few days later and the battery was dead. It's been in charge for a few hours and I've even tried to jump it a few times with no success and I have no way of diagnosing the problem. What could it possibly be?

it's not very new but it was working fine this past weekend

Sometimes batteries can unexpectedly die or fail if they have been used for testing too much. If it is the liquid type you could probably get away with topping it off with distilled water and let it trickle charge. Do you have a volt meter of any kind to see if it still has any volts?

yea, I have a multi meter

I would try charging it before the water and see if it has any volts

Are you charging it while it is still connected to the truck? Unhook your positive cable and trickle charge it.

 

As well if you are using a newer digital charger (I found this out by accident) I have a "CAT" brand digital charger......best charger ever.....but for one flaw.....will not charge a stone dead battery....battery must have at least 5V so the digital circuitry will recognize it (FYI if you are using one).
