You may not even need to replace it. My dad’s Chevy had the same issue and fixed it with a screwdriver tap to the starter. Lasted a whole 4 years until he sold it last year; after that it’s unknown. Good preventative maintenance though.

Forgot to mention that it’s a high chance the bendix mechanism inside the starter is what’s stopping it. They get stuck sometimes.

I ordered a new mopar starter from a dealer in oregon. $275 with a $55 core charge. Spendy little bugger. Thanks for the help with this. Eagle thank you for finder the part for me.

No problem. Starter should last you a life time.
