cromanyak
I was wondering if it's normal for the breaks to feel kind of weak on the MJ's? They're fine for normal driving but when I jam on them it doesn't really feel much different than normal braking. There's no sudden jerk or anything like that. Which is what I'm used to in my Cavalier. Am I just expecting too much or is there something wrong maybe?
Pete M
Well, it is an old truck. :D The old rubber hoses get mushy, the booster doesn't quite boost like new anymore, the fluid is probably full of moisture, etc. Also, what size tires do you have? Renegade
I have this same problem. I'm replacing all the brakes right now but haven't found anything even close to wore out. Didn't feel like fluid pushing past the o-rings in the master cylinder. Booster problem maybe?
DirtyComanche
The boosters are crap. If you've got a soft pedal and can't find anything else obviously the matter, the booster is probably piling up.
carnuck
The rear axle valve catches air or the line rots through and no brakes happen in the back after that (drove mine almost 2 years before I found out!)
Renegade
Just removed the rear valve so I'm hoping that'll fix it. If not I guess the only solution is to replace the booster? I've never had to mess with one of those. Oughta be....uh....interesting.
