LED dash lights that dim?

So I found an LED dash light in the junkyard.  It replaces the standard #194 bulb.  It has a blue base, and sure enough is a blue LED.  What surprised me, is that it dims with the dash light dimmer on the headlight switch.  A big reason I hadn't converted to LED was I didn't want to lose the ability to dim the dash lights.

 

I found some on ebay that look the same as my junkyard find, but when asked, they said they don't dim.

 

Has anyone replaced the dash lights with LED and they are still dimmable?  Source please?  Thanks!

Do you have a picture of the led you found?

No, it's plugged into the 4wd shifter console of my XJ and I'm not home right now.  Can get one when I get home.

I did mine in green from onewaylight.com.

4 vehicles. I feel no need to dim or brighten them. They're just right.
