Anybody tried or seen tried non-fabric headliners?

Just thinking, but what if you removed and sprayed the headliner with flat paint or bedliner or something along those lines?

And to answer the "why?" question, because it's cheap and easy and I'm broke and lazy!  :roflmao:

I've seen plenty of trucks where the owner did... nothing.  can't get much cheaper or easier than that. :D   painting almost seems like too much work  :dunno:

In my 2 Dr XJ I removed the sagging fabric, used gloves and just rubbed the glue off by hand, then used Rust-Oleum bedliner on the backer board.  Worked out really well and looked good.  I can't find any pictures of it anymore though.

I saw one on here a few years ago where the guy simply sanded the backer board, filled in any imperfections and painted it. It looked great and no more sagging fabric.
