Rubber windshield trim

Hey guys, i got the rubber windshield trim to get rid of the metal one with clips. 

I wanted to know of any tips and tricks to get it imstalled right. Also what sealant did anyone use?

I read through the DIY writeup and he installed the rubber with the windshield out of the vehicle. I thought since its "trim" and the windshield has sealant already that the trim was seperate. Or an I mistaken?

I'm going to give this another go tomorrow, maybe I can get something to work

Its an informative video but the windshield is sealed separately from the trim. Like my truck had the metal trim around the windshield, I'm trying to replace the metal trim for a rubber trim
