Diamond Jack, Louisiana

Just got back from my trip to Bossier City, Louisiana. Attended a Veteran's conference held at Diamond Jack Casino. Clipped Diamond Jack for $45 bucks, was up $65 bucks, but he drew me back in on the last day. Drove through Missouri, Arkansas to get there. Beautiful part of the country. People so friendly. Once we cross the state line to Louisiana, on Interstate 49 its all brand new highway. Most of the time we were the only ones on the road. Does anyone else know about this stretch of new road?

Looked into some senior housing down that way. Sure would like to live there. Anyways I'm back up north and its a little cooler here. Notice the trees changing colors along the way. I think Jack Frost is coming to town.

Didn't see one MJ along the way. Its a rare beast to find.

It is a lovely neck o' the woods.  but I've only ever just driven through.  far as I can tell, it's hot, humid and rainy in Louisiana. I know because our rain in georgia comes from there.

I have a problem with the humidity in most of the east.  Suppose that comes from living in Southern California since I was 4 years old.  The trees and plants in the east is so different from the chaparral of the southwest.  Have to say I find it a refreshing change when traveling east of the Rockies.  Not to mention how different the weather can be in just the same day in the east/midwest.

We have been thinking about taking a train to New Orleans then renting a car and driving up the Nachez Trace.  Anyone know how that would be in November?

well, yeah.  that's what I was trying to get across.  our weather sucks because their weather sucks.      

 

if I could move anywhere I want, I think I'd go a couple hours northeast of me to the north carolina foothills.  I have some friends that live there and they seem to be south enough to never get very cold, north enough to never get too hot, and somehow protected from the winds that bring the moisture from the gulf.  it's just... pleasant... almost all the time.
