after market horn, relay question

Hey guys, I have an after market horn with a button on the dash. The relay blew (horn stopped working and relay just clicks).

I got a new one that matches the old one. If I manage to hook it up wrong will it blow, or just not work?

If the relay clicks it isn't blown. Check for power at the horn.

 

Just to prove the relay is fine, check for continuity across terminals 30 and 87 when pushing the horn button. (assuming it's a regular 5 pin relay)

I've had to replace 4 horns in the last two years, if the horn is out in the elements, it's the likely issue. I moved mine under the hood on both the MJ (to just in front of stock airbox) and my XJ (has two horns) haven't had an issue since.
