Jeep Driver
I just contacted a seller of a 1988 D30, Pic indicates non-cad. I'm going after the early knuckle. Did jeep use non-cad d30s in 1988? Maybe with the 242? I need to leave in an hour, axle is 156 miles away............can't find a straight answer with search. Help is appreciated. Potterman42
I have a 88, 92, 93, XJ and a 89 Comanche. I don't think they made a non-cad D30 before 1990. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
Crash
Non-cad was on 242 equipped vehicles.
Green Mesa XJ
Some 84-86 with that weird full time 4x4, don't remember what number it was predates the 242 and had a vacuum switch in the center console to engaged the transfer case front wheel drive. It was a non CAD axel . Anyway that axel on the pic looks right from what I can see but don't know if I'd tell the differences with out a side by side comparison. Edit : it was the early select track option the NP229 transfer case http://comancheclub.com/topic/9198-vacuum-actuator-on-1991-front-axle/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

dasbulliwagen
I have an 86 Waggy parts vehicle with the NP228/229 and it is a non cad axle. I haven't confirmed the gear ratio yet on it but I mostly grabbed the thing for its axles.
dasbulliwagen
looks early to me, calipers, just want to make sure I saw the ad for that last week too, and wondered about getting it, though I don't need it. Glad you got a good score.
Eagle
I have an 86 Waggy parts vehicle with the NP228/229 and it is a non cad axle. I haven't confirmed the gear ratio yet on it but I mostly grabbed the thing for its axles. Probably 3.73 if it was a 2.8L, maybe even 4.56 if it was a 4-cylinder. Its a 2.8 with A904 auto and the 228/229 transfer case. Ive read that the 3:73 was the most likely ratio for that combo but wasnt sure because of the auto.
