Wiggilez Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 In my jeep I'm using a 1990 ax15 and a 1990 np242(from an auto trans). The ax15 has a 23 spline count where as my 242 only has 21. Can i grab an input from a 23 spline 231 and put it in my 242?
jpnjim Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 There was some gear pitch changes along the way, way back when I swapped a 23 spline gear for a 21 spline (in a 231 box), and the t-case sounded like it was full of rocks. It could have been a 231 only thing, just putting it out there that there was different generations of T-cases and not all of the gears interchange. MeanLemons Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Yep. It changed in mid year 1994 That's why I said he need to find it from a 91-94.5 t case.
Wiggilez Posted June 19, 2017 Author Posted June 19, 2017 From a 91-94.5 t case. Yes u can cool thank you. Get a matching tcase I'd like to keep the 242 but they don't seem to be that common where I live, hell even finding an XJ in a JY is lucky.
