Ruxus
Is there any kind soul here that can help me out. I want 1-2 inch lift to the rear of my truck. Thinking of buying new shackels. Since I'm in sweden few vendors here have parts for our cars, and even fewer have any knowledge of them. I need some help with this. Found one retailer that sells rough contry products. Anyone know if any of there drop shackels fit the MJ? Was looking at RC0501? Thanks in advance Mathias
mikekaz1
lift shackles made for the jeep Cherokee XJ will fit on an MJ. but they will just measure 1" less lift then advertised, as the MJ factory shackles are already 1" longer then factory Cherokee shackles. Pete M
the most common "lift" shackles for MJs are actually "drop" shackles for a fullsize chevy truck (chevy runs an inverted shackle so a longer one lowers their trucks). late 90s or 2000s chevy seems to be the one. try to get rubber bushings. like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-Silverado-Sierra-1-2-Drop-Leveling-Lowering-Shackles-Rubber-Bushing-/262704736676?fits=Make%3AChevrolet&hash=item3d2a6c29a4:g:Dh4AAOSwopRYi9Me&vxp=mtr
Ruxus
Thank u guys for the answers. Pete, do you know what the chevy shackles measure eye to eye? I really don't want to order from the states if I'm not 100% sure they will fit. Shipping is really expensive Skickat från min iPhone med Tapatalk
Ruxus
From what I understand, stock ones are 4 1/4 inches eye to eye and 2 1/2 inches wide? Skickat från min iPhone med Tapatalk

DirtyComanche
Those RC0501 shackles should do what you want. How bad is the pricing on them there through the vendor? There might be better options.
Incommando
I think he meant the rough country are 6.5" while stock is 4.25"
Ruxus
They sell for 123$ in sweden, 50$ on RC webpage Skickat från min iPhone med Tapatalk
Ruxus
Shipping to Sweden is really expensive though. Was told a pair of coilspacers would ship for 75$, and those plasric thingys don't weight much Skickat från min iPhone med Tapatalk
Ruxus
Oh, I also inquired to get full leaf packs, shipping only, 392$. Might as well fly over there, wonder if they fit in the overhead compartment? Skickat från min iPhone med Tapatalk
Pete M
the chevy extended shackles are far more common. you might be able to find a better deal.
CRM1988
I went with add a leaf from skyjacker $100 and spacer for the coil springs up front.
