JeepFanactic Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 Need input on 1988 Mj 2wd with the 4.0 and manual transmission. The body is pretty straight from what I can tell. But the interior on the drivers side is pretty rotted out. The owner told me to take it off his hands for $700. I am in the middle of a 4wd conversion on my current MJ so I am aware of what is needed to get it converted but I have never welded before. This MJ would be a way to learn to weld on and a just something else to learn on. Need suggestion on if I should pass or not. Its fairly close to home so that is not a problem. Thanks
DirtyComanche Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 I'd probably buy it and park it in the line of all the other Jeeps that need attention. YMMV
Keyav8r Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 If you have $700 and a place to park it, grab it. If I learned to weld you can.
Skorpyo Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 Agreed, if you have the space and the jeep runs and doesn't sound like it needs a new motor. I'm in northern VA (Woodbridge) and my buddy and I have done some floor board welding before if you're looking for tips etc.
