EatSleepJeep Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Sup guys just had a quick question, I'm in the middle of doing the Dual Diaphragm Brake boost mod and I found these 2 wire plugs underneath my old booster that aren't plugged into anything nor is there anything close that they could plug into. I was wondering if anyone knew what they went to? I know for sure they do not go to the windshield washer pump or the plug in the brake distro block. I'm not worried about it just curious. If it helps my MJ is an 86 Custom 2.5L 2wd 4speed and originally from CA. Thanks, some pic's below.
DirtyComanche Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Big brown one is the low wiper fluid switch, which is optional. I'd have to check for the other one.
Strokermjcomanche Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 The second one is for a washer pump .
DirtyComanche Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 The second one is for a washer pump . I wanted to say that but he said it doesn't... XJ harness with a pigtail for the rear wiper pump?
EatSleepJeep Posted November 13, 2016 Author Posted November 13, 2016 Weird the black one is for the washer as there is a plug already going to it but thanks for the info anyways.
DirtyComanche Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Like I said, the XJ harness has a second plug for the wiper motor for the rear hatch. I've never considered looking, but I could see (some/all) MJ harnesses having it even though it wouldn't be used.
HOrnbrod Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 No, there's only one washer pump connector on the MJ engine bay harness, at least on the HOs. I had to add a second one when I installed the 97+ XJ inner fender washer fluid tank for the second pump on the tank.

My 88 MJ has one pump, no pump for rear, but has the plug hanging like the OP, has a fuse for the rear wiper motor too. My brown plug is attached to the top of the tank (in engine compartment).
