Hypoid
Hi everyone! I need six more posts to put an ad in the classifieds. I am a Colorado native, grew up with fishing, hunting, camping: I remember sitting in my high-chair and telling my grandmother I was eating DEEEEEER meat! My dad was farm kid with a mechanical aptitude, and fixed everything we owned. As a result, I knew how to torque a cylinder head before I was old enough to understand what the numbers on the wrenches meant. I tried to not become my father, but now that I passed the half-century mark, that is not such a bad thing. I have a diverse work history: Sales/market research, food manufacturing and processing, shipping/receiving/warehouse. Until a few weeks ago, I fixed rail road cars-fun job! Some of the equipment I worked on. This is what happens when you park in the wrong place. The driver survived because the cab was pushed through an opening between the steel beams. Time to run an errand, more post-whoring later.
Hypoid
We bought our first XJ in 2006. My wife picked it out, I have been working on it since. She had no clue we were buying an adventure. Sadly, during one of those warm Colorado snow storms, she out-drove the tires. Since then, I have managed to wear off the "nice." Hypoid
Did I mention that I love the outdoors? Being the "roll the sleeves up" kind of guy that I am, I have been a volunteer mentor for the 1on1 Fishing program: The program takes handicapped, disadvantaged, and at-risk youth fishing at privately owned ponds. I really enjoyed the time I spent with the kids, but I have a family of my own, and only one of my boys likes fishing. After we got the XJ, I got involved with the USFS Adopt-a-Road program. I volunteer with a few local clubs, make a couple trips a year to pick up trash, fill out monitor forms, block illegal trails, and other work as needed. I manage to have fun and enjoy being there. :)
Hypoid
Two more posts! Since I am in Colorado, I'll toss in a few scenic pictures. Nine degrees Fahrenheit, 30 MPH gusts, time to go home. :) Snowballs in August. :)
Hypoid
Uno mas! Some time ago, I bought a project from a co-worker. He was the third owner of the silver Comanche (his dad was the second), he used to drive it to work every day. The engine developed a knock, he got a parts Jeep with good engine, and did not make much progress after that. I bought both MJs, cut up the parts Jeep, and stalled there. I did put a temporary yoke on the back half of the parts Jeep and tow it to a guy near Greeley. The whole way up, I looked in my rear view and wished I had not committed to selling it. Well, time to adios the silver truck, and make the trailer I want. Look for a thread in the classifieds soon...

Hypoid
Thanks for the welcomes! Dirty Comanche, that was a Chevy. The driver got out with some cuts and abrasions, and soiled underwear. He did not work for my company, so, I don't know if he studied for that drug test. ComancheKid45, I started as a carknocker, anchored our air brake program, worked into/through training, supervising, inspecting, estimating, QA, Safety Committee, finished as a Material Manager. My view is that the Rail Industry will be tightening the belt until oil goes up. I wish the best for you! As for myself, I can pass a drug test. In the Great State of Colorado, that makes me a commodity!
