I'm sitting on the side it the road right now as we speak... went to change gears in the Ole comanche and heard a loud pop as I stepped on the clutch... guess my pedal was tired of working and decided it was better to just break

who needs a clutch pedal?  turn off the engine, put it in first, then crank the engine and be prepared for it to catch and start and away you go! :D  you'll figure out how to change gear without the clutch pretty fast.  just gotta match the engine speed.  slowing down is harder, but you can always pop it out of gear and coast to a stop, then turn off the engine and repeat the process.

Yeah the only problem is that I'm on i24 and about 30 miles to my exit... in pretty heavy traffic

Roadside assistance rider in my liability policy has got me towed home twice, gassed when out, and jump started a time or two, WAAAYYY worth the $9 for six months per vehicle.
