davidh190 Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Hi guys, new to the Club. So on Friday me and my dad went to one of those self car wash places and decided to clean the engine bay with degreaser and water. I covered the cap and rotor and some wires that were sticking out. It drove fine home but the next day it start idling roughly and when I got on the freeway, even if I stepped down on the accelerator all the way, it wouldn't roar and give me the torque and acceleration I needed. It's been like that ever since. Any idea if a sensor got damaged? 89 Comanche with a 4.0 and a automatic transmission. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

64 Cheyenne Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Check connectors at TB TPS and IAC for moisture.

Eagle Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 My fuzzy recollection is that the TPS and IAC don't like to get wet.
cruiser54 Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 My fuzzy recollection is that the TPS and IAC don't like to get wet. That ain't a fuzzy recollection. That's a good memory.

davidh190 Posted September 11, 2016 Author Posted September 11, 2016 My fuzzy recollection is that the TPS and IAC don't like to get wet. So I replaced the TPS and it's almost back to its old self. Might replace the IAC... Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
