1992 MJ

Radio isn't turn on at all.
Pink wire has no power with or without the key
Switched wire has power with key on

Ive ran a tester up the wire as far as I could go and nothing
Fuse under "Radio" in the box isn't blown (swapped it out just incase)
Fuse in the radio isn't blown (wouldnt matter its not getting power down the harness)

Is there another place to start looking?

This happened to both of my MJ's. First one was stickshift and the clutch leaked onto the fuse block and killed the connection. Second time is on my new automatic MJ and I couldn't find a problem ANYWHERE. The radio worked fine for a day and the all of a sudden lost power. No idea why. My solution? Run a fused wire straight to the battery and tape off the pinks connection. Works like a charm in both of mine.

had a dodge dakota once whose left turn signal refused to work.  Removed bulb, checked voltage, 12V.  Hmmmm, checked continuity of the wire and it was zero ohms............hmmmm.

closer inspection revealed an over crimp on the power pin of the connector, had voltage and continuity, but could not handle enough amps to function.

For some reason I want to say that the power for the radio doesn't actually come through the "radio" fuse. I'm going to go check the dash harness sitting in my basement.

You are correct. The reason is that constant 12V to the PNK pin 4 wire of the radio connector comes from a multi-splice fused by the 10A DOME fuse. The ignition switched 12V to the VIO/WHT pin 5 wire is fused by the RADIO fuse. Wire color codes may be different on earlier rigs, but the radio connector pin numbers above are the same.

I figured i'd just swap all the fuses and no luck. I'll mess with it tomorrow. Might be the fact my b pillar light cords are just hanging out flapping all over the place. Probably should tape them off before I swap fuses again.

Well, I was thinking the '93 fuse panel looked a little odd, and sure enough it's different from the one in my '91, so I may have sent you down the wrong rabbit hole there. A couple wiring diagrams I saw online mention an inline fuse holder, but that doesn't sound familiar to me. Not sure it's worth pulling everything apart again when what you've got is working now.

My radio in my 89 mj did not work either. I found the pink wire check to make sure it was in good shape radio still not working. I ended up taking the fuse block apart and cleaned it with contact cleaner. I have a manual and the clutch master cylinder had leaked at one time. Now the radio works..... I also replaced all the fuses..... If you have a manual then I would bet money this is your problem.... no matter what harness is in the MJ
