gogmorgo
1984-2001 Cherokee will fit into a 1986-1992 Comanche. Is that a good enough answer? XJ and MJ windshields are the same within years, so to get the original one with the original tint profile, trim bits, etc., you can get one from the same year XJ as your MJ. However over the years the tint profiles and trim changed somewhat. Supposedly the newer ones are better, but there's nothing "wrong" about the older ones. I don't think you can get the chrome trim on the newer windows, but I could be wrong. Hopefully someone else will chime in with a better knowledge of the specific differences between XJ windshields and trim.

gogmorgo
Yeah, pick the one you like best and it'll go in. I personally would prefer getting a new windshield over going to all the work of pulling one. I worked in our fleet garage and about 70% of the driving we do is on gravel, so our windshields only have a 30-45,000 mile life expectancy before they're so badly pitted you can't see out if the sun's shining. So we replaced windshields pretty often. We never managed to get the old ones out without breaking them... so I have to wish you good luck! DirtyComanche
I got one windshield out without breaking it once... It was quite time consuming, but it didn't go that badly. I just used a really big Olfa knife to cut the urethane from the inside, while applying gentle pressure. Eventually it popped out. I did have a used one put in my 89 back in the day. I had the wrecker pull it though, they had 3 or 4 good ones and would just move on to another if they broke the first one.
daking
Damn, I could never imagine pulling a windshield! A new one installed is so cheap. I replaced the one on my MJ, wasn't broken or cracked, just grimy and weathered. Yea, I could have cleaned it, but it is so cheap to just replace it. I have had widows replaced that wore not broken, just cause it was easier. I had a car with messed up tint. Now, I could have spent many hours scraping it off, or just spend a few hundred replacing the glass. Allowing to use my valuable time on other aspects. If you got the money that's the thing to do but if you're broke then it's the other way.
