NorthWoods
So I've got my plate pretty full with things to do on the comanche, rebuilding a 22re for a toyota and getting ready to build a garage. can't find the time to do certain things and was wondering if anyone has ever ordered break lines through this company. They are stainless and claim to be a complete set http://www.classictube.com/with-dana-44-axle-2449.html Any info would be great.
Tanner
I can't say that I did, I am a little mistrustful when it comes to ordering things of this nature online. after having issues with transmission lines I had ordered in the past. I opted to bend my own front lines. PAIN IN THE @$3 but I know it was done right. however if your free time is a factor bending lines is most likely not an option for you. NorthWoods
Yeah I've got copper nickle brake line around and fittings. Just hard to find the time to bend a whole set of new lines.
schardein
A friend of mine built a hot rod and used pre-bent stainless steel brake lines. Don't know where he got them or what brand. But he did say after it was done he discovered several of the connections leaking. He went back and tightened them again and they still leaked. He thought it was because the stainless steel was harder, and not "forming" to the flare inside the master cylinder and wheel cylinders. He actually took them off, and heated them with a propane torch to cherry red and then let them cool in an attempt to anneal them and make them softer. A few still leaked and he actually ended up ordering some pre bent lines but in regular steel to replace them. Solved the leaks, and he said he would never use stainless steel hard lines again. He then gave me a full set of pre-bent stainless lines for a CJ7. I've still got them but I've been hesitant to use them. Would be nice to hear someone say they had no problems. 87MJTIM
A friend bought from here www.inlinetube.com for his Suburban. The website lists CJ, XJ and J-series pickups, no MJs listed. I don't know about the quality. My friend recommended them. Try contacting them to see if they have/can get MJ brake lines.

They are stainless and claim to be a complete set http://www.classictube.com/with-dana-44-axle-2449.html Any info would be great. Several years ago I ordered two sets of SS rear axle brake lines for an MJ Dana 44 axle. The tubes I received were beautiful -- very high quality, and fully wrapped with the outer gravel shielding. Only problem was -- they wouldn't fit an XJ or MJ Dana 44. They might have been correct for the rear of a full-size Cherokee, but mine was sold years before so I had no way of knowing. They made good on it, but I had to pay for shipping back the incorrect parts and ship them the rusty old lines off one of my axles to use as a template. Overall, I think if I had it to do over -- I wouldn't. I'd just buy a coil of coated brake line from Auto Zone and make up my own.
