Strokermjcomanche
Going to possibly get the axle out of this tommorow . Vin 1J4FT27P8XL540425 I can get it for less than $100 out the door , good deal ? Good axle ? I don't know if the driveshaft will need shortened ( currently have a Dana 35 ) in my 88 Comanche . I know there was a thread explaining this but can't find it . I know I'll have to weld perches and cut the XJ brackets off. Anyone need anything if I end up going ? 64 Cheyenne
Power window switches if the door panels are still inside, I doubt it though...

88whitemanche
Great axle...I currently have one under my 98 2door 4.0 ax15...paid $220 out the door for mine so your getting a steal! Great amount of torque back especially on 4.5" lift and 32s.... Is it an auto or manual 2.5? I found out that the 97+ 2.5 auto has 3.55 gears
Strokermjcomanche
It's a manual , the tag is still on the axle with 4.10 ratio .

88whitemanche
I got lucky to have a 4cyl Comanche with 4.10s... Since I'm planning to regear the comanche to 4.88s I figured why pay twice to regear and just swap axles...

I know of a front 4.10 axle with a bent tube for $100 but Leary of using used gears .I guess it all depends how you use it...I know a guy who set up used gears into his d30 front axle...He's on 13" of lift and 38s and been running it for 10+ years and goes off-road with no issues... it's his dd and He still had the cad axle

I wouldn't pay a hundred, I'd offer $50, ask them to throw the bent housing for free or tell them you'd bring it back after you got the gears out. Myself, I wouldn't think twice about running used gears as long as they don't have heat or physical damage. I like saving money however I can. They are firm on their prices . The other axle is at another yard , I'd like to open it up before I bought it to make sure they are not damaged . Maybe he'll wheel and deal ... If it was me, money would not changed hands if they would not open it up, same goes for trannys, and anything else that you can visually inspect or check fluid condition.
