tarmac2dirt
As i go through the process of repainting and restoring my '88' MJ is there a good quality outside replacement mirror set. i googled information on a couple of the more common brands on the market and quality seemed to be very poor. Any recommended oem style that you guys really like or prefer. Thanks
shelbyluvv
Factory 97 and newer XJ mirrors are a cheap and easy upgrade.
Minuit
:agree: Any mirrors from a Cherokee or Comanche will work. The 97+ are hideous but give you more visibility, but require minor modification to fit. The '84-'96 versions (they all fit within that year range) are correct for your truck. There are multiple types but all will work. Any junkyard will have what you need. Don't bother with aftermarket crap. If you have the awful mirrors that mount to the door skin, you will need to plug 2-4 holes in your door, but no other changes are needed.
Crash
The 97-up mirrors were plug n pray on my Renix XJ. Granted, I did not wire up the power. If you have/want a driver replacement small door-mounted mirror, I think I have one on my old MJ doors.
mikekaz1
the tiny door mounted mirrors suck, but I really like my "ford" style swing aways.
