I have a 1988 Comanche with the 4.0l and 4wd. I would like to run 32x11.5r15. I was wondering if I could get away with a 3 inch lift, instead of 4.5 inch lift, without any major trimming? Not gonna do any hardcore wheeling, just mild stuff.

Bumpstops.. aftermarket control arms, should be fine.

Although I would trim to the lip of the fenders and relocate flares or use flexy flares if you choose.

But, bumpstops are key to any lift, especially low COG.

Get some Napier Fender flares. Cheaper then bushwackers

You will be fine.

Don't forget to pound down the pinch seem inside the front wheel wells.

I ran 3" with 31s for some pretty heavy duty wheeling without any issues.  You'll have no problems with 32s and mild stuff.

How's he going to pound down pinch seams in the wheel opening if he doesn't want to do any trimming? No trimming to me sounds like inner fenders will remain on the truck. Personally I'm thinking 32's and 3inch lift might be too much tire with no trimming, but have not ever tried it myself, so really don't know. Pretty sure you can get away with narrow 31's on stock rims with 3 inch without too much rubbing.
