spare tire jack

The only thing missing from the above pic is the clip for the jack rod, which goes on the D-bracket on the back of the cab. I've since got one, but I don't have a pic of it installed. Odd that my lug wrench is different from Don's diagram - were there different sets of jack tools offered? My owner's manual talks about a swiveling lug wrench thing like that, but I've never seen one.

No, you have the correct lug wrench. I just prefer the cross-type lug wrench for more leverage. Besides, it's shiney!  The 3/8" rusty speed handle I show in my pic isn't part of the factory equipment either. I use that to crank the spare tire hoist up and down quickly.

I was referring to #1 in your diagram, the swively GM-style lug wrench

I've still only seen the setup mine has. Was that lug wrench only on XJs? No idea what #3,5, or 11 are either.

The diagram shows both the XJ and MJ items. I edited my original post to include the item number descriptions. #3. 5, and 11 are XJ only, and the lug wrench shown, #1, is the XJ one.

An XJ should have all the same parts. Under the rear seat, driver's side. The XJ won't have the rubber strap, though.

TJ's use a very similar rubber strap...  I should try mine to see if it fits.  Not that you'll find any TJ's in a junkyard, but you might be able to order it still...

Took me forever to figure out how to get it all mounted correctly...  I could have used the factory diagram posted by MJ Junkie, since my truck didn't have one... Thanks!!!

I thought that was just the junkyards I've been to in my area, but I also rarely see any TJ's in a junkyard. I've only seen a few and they were completely wrecked. Were there just not that many made, or are they more of a collectible?

There were only about 80-100k made per year, so they are a little rarer.  They're also more often fixed with a salvage title than scrapped out entirely, probably due to scarcity, as well as ease of repair compared to most vehicles.    When they do show up, they're usually picked clean in just a short time, so that nothing but the unusable bent metal is left.
