1990 Comanche
Will the stock 5-Star 15" wheel fit over a rear disk brake conversion on a Comanche with a Dana 44? Read in some of the posts that factory wheels have clearance problems. Planning on using parts from a ZJ or if you have a better suggestion. HOrnbrod
I haven't tried these particular wheels, but I did run into caliper clearance problems originally with the Canyon wheels. A set of 1.25" Spidertrax spacers will fix clearance problems quite easily though, and look better too.
Keyav8r
I'll second the "looks better" with Spidertrax 1.25" spacers. Can't comment on the clearance issue as I still have drums on the rear.
dscowell
Some spacer should do the trick or wheels with less back spacing if you want to buy a new set. The wheels on my truck have a 3.25" as opposed to the 5" on my stock wheels and I have no problems.
1990 Comanche
Thanks for all of the answers, but now I have a bigger problem. The Dana 44 I purchased has a bent axle shaft. Anyone have a good source for good used stock shafts? Thanks
Strokermjcomanche
What spline count ? https://akroncanton.craigslist.org/pts/5204164516.html
HOrnbrod
Gotta be 30 spline axles. OP, which side (L or R) is bent, and how do you know it's bent? I have a couple of spares.
1990 Comanche
It is the right (long) side. It looked odd, so I put it between 2 V blocks and used a dial indicator. It reads between 0 and 80 as I spin the axle a full 360. Spline is
Crash
For 44, my understanding is that exploder 8.8 rear discs work best. All will require some kind of mod, since the D44 is a non-c-clip axle.

I've got the left side axle spares only now. Been waiting for the stockers to snap, so I can swap in the chromoly axle shaft kit I've had for a couple of years.
