Eagle Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Personally, I'd return it to where I got it. It's obviously the wrong part.
HOrnbrod Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 The last Bosch pump I put in was considerably smaller than the original, but it came with bushings and adapters and it was straightforward after figuring where they went. Also recommend spending a few extra $$ and go with the Bosch pump over the Carter.
az comanches Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 That is the same pump I ordered from Rockauto. It's a Bosch pump in a Carter box. They also sell a Walbro pump, I think the Walbros were original equipment in some Jeeps. Anyway , my mechanic put mine in no problem. 89 4.0 longbed.
HOrnbrod Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 It's a Bosch pump in a Carter box. Really? How do you know that?
Fernando87mj Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 I bought a napa fuel pump that said it was a replacement for vehicles equipped with the bosh , it said carter on the pump iirc , mines came with the adapter and all and fit with no issues and has giving me no issues in the 8-9 months it's been installed and ran .
cruiser54 Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Look at Carter replacement pumps carefully. Many are re-badged Airtex junk nowadays.
