I swapped out my fuel pump today, turns out the '91 longbed 2.5L I have for parts has the same pump and sending unit as my '88 shortbed 4.0L. Pete M Posted February 15, 2006 Share Posted February 15, 2006 Well, it won't bolt right up if that's what you mean, but take a length measurement of the longbed tank and crawl underneath and see if it'll clear the rear axle. Bounty Hunter Posted February 15, 2006 Author Share Posted February 15, 2006 At first glance (read 'without measuring'), it looks like it would clear the rear axle but may have to be spaced down to clear bed crossmembers. The forward upper edge of the shortbed tank is clearanced for the crossmember, not sure on the LWB tank. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Stumpy found a square hole in the shortbed frame further back closer to the axle, same type hole the mounting brackets use. It may be useful in mounting the larger tank if it even clears the axle.
