Tanner
Can anyone tell me how to remove the two main harness connectors from the firewall in my renix 4.0? There seems to be a retaining clip around it and I can't seem to get it free of the connectors so that they can be removed, and I definitely don't want to break it just because I don't know what I'm doing and then have to replace it
fiatslug87
If you're talking about the one that goes to the fuse box, there's a hex head bolt in the center on the engine bay side that must be removed, maybe 10mm? I don't remember.
Akula69
It is a 1/4 inch hex bolt right in the very center accessible from the engine bay side. Probably one of the only non-metric bolts on the truck.....

tugalo
Depending on the year of your truck, there could be two main connectors, C101 and the one going to the firewall side of the fuse block. Either way, they both have the bolt in the center and are removed in two sections.........

91Pioneer
I cleaned the C101 on my 88, it helped a ton. I had a random non-starting issue and it was all full of black gunk like that pic shows. It's something every Renix owner should do without question.
Tanner
Yeah that's what mine looks like. But I don't have the c101
