Just finished overhauling my exhaust, and everything is back together - except that I couldn't extract (I'm assuming) the O2 sensor plug from the old front exhaust pipe.

Does anyone happen to know the dimensions and thread size of that bolt? It's an 87'.

Thanks!

Are you trying to remove the O2 sensor from the exhaust pipe bung? If so the wrench size is 7/8". The O2 sensor thread size is  M18x1.5, same as a spark plug.

No O2 sensor on my truck, it's just got a bolt that plugs the hole. You answered my question - The thread size was what I needed. Thanks.

No O2 sensor? How does that work? Does the ECU just push the pre-programmed fuel air ratio without compensating?

I have the same question. If you're driving it around with no oxygen sensor, the ECU must be in open loop (warm-up) mode all the time ... which means your fuel mileage must be in the toilet.

Or did you go retro and install a carburetor?

87 is renix, they will actually run decently without an Os2 hooked up. Yes, they do run on ECU parameters, but they do run. A while back when my O2 was failing on my renix XJ, I disco'd my O2 sensor and it ran fine until I could afford to buy a new one.

But it runs in open loop mode, which is -- by default -- a very rich mixture. It's got to hurt gas mileage to run like that all the time.

I use mine for off-road mostly when my O2 died I thought I had a hole in the tank drank fuel, my best guess it was getting like 6 mpg
