Pete M Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 What year was it that Jeep started putting the bigger joints into every one?
DirtyComanche Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 96 has a good ring to it. Perosnally I'd go the calipers route.
Pete M Posted June 4, 2007 Author Posted June 4, 2007 could be 95 but 96 for sure That's why I'm asking. car-part.com shows a split between 96 and older and 97 and newer for non-ABS axle shafts. I always thought 95 or 96 was the starting year. :(
offroader461 Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 Wranglers used them in 95 and i think that cherokees did the same
Twisty Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 Wranglers used them in 95 and i think that cherokees did the same Yup. The TJs were the first Wrangler to have 1 piece shafts with the 297x shafts. The YJs had the disconnect. XJs started in 1995. No clue about Grands though.
