HOrnbrod
Good against Evil, God vs. the Devil, Alabama vs. Auburn, Conservatives vs. Liberals, Ike against Hitler. This fight is all that.

HOrnbrod
You mean Alabama vs. Auburn? Yeah, that was a bit over the top. Seriously though, that's how it's being hyped. Did you notice I didn't say who was Good or Evil?

HOrnbrod
 My longtime wife, a lovely lady from the Philippines, has a couple of her girlfriends over tonight to watch the fight. They are already very excited and shrieking in their encrypted mode. No matter what happens in the fight it will only get louder. I had to adjourn to my doghouse above the garage with the dogs because they really don't care. Hope this is a good fight and the good man wins. Incommando
With boxing'a crooked history and no one knowing the score until it magically appears at the end I just cannot get into it. Add in that a controversial victory just means more money in a re-match and it is a recipe for disaster. They should post scores after each round at the minimum

Add in that a controversial victory just means more money in a re-match and it is a recipe for disaster. They should post scores after each round at the minimum That's been done in the past, many times. It's called open scoring. The scores are posted for all to see after each round. While it helps to weed out crooked judging, it makes for boring fights. When a fighter knows he's ahead on the cards, he naturally takes a few rounds off and coasts. Most everyone hates it, including the fighters.

ggcnash
Rite, open scoring sux, but c'mon this fight wasn't controversial I was going for the good guy too, like most people were "manny", but Mayweather is just too skilled in too many ways he is with out a doubt in the conversation for greatest pound for pound of all time! jimoshel
In 1947 I listened to the Lewis-Walcott match with my step dad on the radio. The only thing I ever did with him and the last time I had any interest in professional boxing.

Yeah, Mayweather is skilled and is one of the best defensive fighters ever. But he's boring as hell. He's also a total scumbag and represents all that's wrong in boxing and pro sports in general. I'm old enough to remember Rocky Marciano, and ever met him when I was a young kid in Mass and he came to our school. His record was 49-0 with 43 KOs. Mayweather will probably tie or surpass Rocky's wins w/o a loss, but w/o the KOs. I'm hoping someone will kick his sorry azz before he does and shut the jerk up. But it doesn't look like there's anyone left in his weight class who's capable..............

The only thing I ever did with him and the last time I had any interest in professional boxing. Marciano beat both those guys; Walcott twice. Admittedly Joe Lewis was nearing the end of his career when he fought Marciano though....
