TheDirtyJeep401 Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 86 Comanche 2.5. When I replaced the clutch master cylinder a couple of weeks ago, the rear tail lights no longer work. Brake lights and turn signals still work, but no rear lights when the headlights are on. Also the gauge lights don't want to work. The lights for the Coolant and oil pressure and everything still work. Just not the backlighting. Anyone have any idea what it could be?
Keyav8r Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 Check your fuse block for damage from clutch fluid (assume the cylinder was changed due to leakage?) Also, could have disturbed some fuses or wiring under the dash. Recheck the fuses and connectors, refresh your grounds.
TheDirtyJeep401 Posted May 4, 2015 Author Posted May 4, 2015 The cups in the clutch master cylinder failed. Wasn't leaking too bad. Ill check the box again. Do you have any wiring diagrams for the lights/Under dash wiring?
big66440 Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Check and see if someone connected the plugs for the trailer lights by your rear bumper, I had the same exact thing happen to me. They are not supposed to be connected to each other.
TheDirtyJeep401 Posted May 14, 2015 Author Posted May 14, 2015 So I replaced the headlight switch. Still nothing. Checked connectors and refreshed my grounds and I still have nothing.
big66440 Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 X2 :agree: it's easy to overlook the obvious, ask me how I know.

TheDirtyJeep401 Posted May 18, 2015 Author Posted May 18, 2015 I got it fixed. Turned out to be a loose wire and 2 fuses that seemed fine until tested. Now to just figure out why the power outlet doesn't want to work......
