Adding lift

Recommended Posts

I'm running 33s on about 4 inches lift, stock 3.55s. Gearing is fine. 4.10s or 4.56s might be better but I never have trouble. Did have to cut the fenders. I'm still on stock control arms. Have drop brackets I haven't installed yet. No death wobble or any other problems. 4.5 backspacing wheels, rubs lcas at full lock.

You may think it's fine but it's not.

Drive a properly built rig on the highway and you will instantly feel the difference.

You are also causing your transmission to generate more heat which is what kills them.

I'm from the mind set if you are going to lift it, do it right the first time.

Eh, I can cruise at 65 for the 45 minutes it takes me to get to my dad's just fine. I can merge into the highway without trucks. I've got the trans run through an auxiliary cooler in front of the radiator, but that's it. Works for me. When I'm ready to upgrade my axles I'll go for 4.10 or better but it runs just fine as is.

Mine worked great with 3.55s and 31s but I regeared to 4.10s to match the 8.8 I put in and I only rub a very little bit right now. I had to cut 1 small section of flare under the truck and as long as I stay off the highway and can park anywhere without rub
