Hey guys I am New here i am now the proud owner of a 1990 4.0l renix

thanks to the other forums regarding this, I am 95% complete.

I am in the process of swapping out my idiot gauges for a full panel, i have only one issue so far and that is the part number for coolant temperature sending unit.

I bought one from autozone its part number is tu108, however i do not know if that is for an idiot switch or for the temperature gauge, if someone has a part number it would be awesome.

thanks

 Dis

i have almost every major auto part store near by i prefer, oreillys or  autozone(only bc they had it in stock)

Btw Thanks to  rubiconron for showing the upgrade on the cluster, i Will Post Some PIcs on how i modified my new Cluster Vs The old one, the adaption took me about 10 extra mins but i have to Break it down again, due to i wanted to make sure the speedometer worked. It did, fyi the donor vehicle was in junk yard it was a 1991 xj, it was literally pug in play, except for the modification and oil pressure.sending unit.

No, it's not. Autozone part #TU108 clearly states that it is a coolant temperature "switch." That's for use with idiot lights. The listing also has a "related parts" area that includes "Coolant temperature sensor"

http://www.autozone.com/engine-management/temperature-switch?filterByKeyWord=TU108&fromString=search&isSearchByPartNumber=true

Problem is, if you click the link to the related "coolant temperature sensor," it shows one with a pigtail and it says it fits the thermostat housing. That's not the correct part for a Renix, that would be for an HO. In other words, Autozone (as usual) doesn't have a clue.

This one, from Advance, looks to be the right one:

If you cross TU108 and WT761 they are the exact same, just different manufacturers. They both cross to Napa 6053 which is the one I used and was previously mentioned by Dom. So yes TU108 will work

Yes this renix coolant sending unit TU108 did work just fine (note it was a 1/2 deep socket and the original was 13mm deep socket) fyi the oil sending unit was PS133 part numbers are from Autozone.
