comanchebuilder21 Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 So just put a ax15 back in to my mj 2 weeks ago everything got torqued properly an all was fine till today. Started it drove for like 2 miles then when I'd press the clutch it'd make a terrible grinding screeching sound. So I get under it every bolt holding Trans to block was 1/4 OF THE WAY UNDONE. Any ideas wtf is going on. I tightened it back up an it's good now. This confuses me
comanchebuilder21 Posted March 16, 2015 Author Posted March 16, 2015 Plz comment on this one don't know why it made 2
Comangi Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Maybe you should have used loc-tite? Not sure if those particular bolts require it or not. I assume the vibration of use made them back out. What about torque specs? were they torqued properly?
xjrev10 Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 They have blue loc tight from the factory. I used never seize on mine.
comanchebuilder21 Posted March 16, 2015 Author Posted March 16, 2015 Yes they were torqued properly that's what's confusing me
shelbyluvv Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 It probably wasn't seated right and when you hit a bump it settled into it's spot leaving the bolts loose. Or you need a new torque wrench.
Eagle Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Do you have the locating dowels in place? If not, the bell housing might be able to shift enough to start loosening the bolts.
