DirtyJeepGuy Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Got a 86 2.5l 5 speed. Hasnt really ran in a few months, Got it started up and noticed theres oil rapidly coming out of the hose in the back of the airbox. Which is then coming down the airbox underneath it along the fender well. I'm looking to see any insight on it? Reading forum post ive noted it could be something common to do with the valve cover hoses clogged?
wvzj Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 I would check the rubber grommet on top of the valve cover first. The one on my 4.0 had started swelling and blocked of the hose.
Comanche County Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Early 2.5s have a PCV valve, later are CCV. Clean all the tubes out and clean the PCV valve. Check your compression. Hopefully it isn't from blow by.
DirtyJeepGuy Posted February 24, 2015 Author Posted February 24, 2015 I pulled the valve cover about a week ago. Cleaned it real good inside and out. The bushings on the top of the valve cover were pretty rotted and swollen. I'm gunna replace all the hoses and such. If i can figure out exactly what is needed.
Jeep Driver Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Did you test it for crank case pressure?
