DirtyJeepGuy
Waiting on frame stiffeners & tax time. I'll be buying tons of steel to get the frame rot fixed. Maybe a small lift. Gotta purchase a car hauler and 1 tons for my XJ. But I'm planning to do a lcog build with this. No mud.
DirtyJeepGuy
Havent gotten to mess with her in a few days. Hopefully ill have her up this weekend! Picked up parts to make a cold air intake. New fuel line. Key tumbler. As well as radiator since mine currently has holes in them. Still on the hunt for the airbox clips. Crash
Maybe consider a SBC swap? Novak makes the adapters/mounts for it. Would definitely put a lil pep in her step.
DirtyJeepGuy
I got to mess with it today. I replaced the CPS. Did some volt test on things. Put my optima battery from my XJ in the mj today to attempt to crank it. can't hear the fuel pump priming. At all. Tested relays up front. Got 12v from them. Tested the power to the fuel pump when keys turned. Went from 4v to about 5.40v. I took off the sending line. Turned key. Nothing came out. So I ordered a new fuel pump. However! I noticed the PO put new plugs and wires on it. Wires weren't put in correct firing order. So with a little starting fluid. She fired up!
88whitemanche
It may not be the pump it might just be the rubber hose that flows from the pump through to the sending unit... But a new pump always help....
DirtyJeepGuy
I got it running without a new pump earlier. Fixed the ground. However. Went to start it a few minutes ago and it won't start. Just cranks and cranks. Hear the pump prime. Tested volts out of coil. Found out I'm not getting spark from the distributor. DirtyJeepGuy
Update. It started fine the past few times ive started it. However! Have oil flowing into the airbox and out of it rapidly. I'm reading up on it currently. Had a YJ do it on occasion. But never messed with it. I'm wanting to fix it on here. Cause it smokes and runs rough. I'm looking into a blocked valve line? Any insight?
Jeep Driver
Blow-by. Â Rebuild time.
88whitemanche
Had a buddy with a similar issue... He replaced the rear main seal, valve cover gasket, oil filter gasket never knew what it was.kept leaking...until he changed the (ccv) don't know the correct term but it stopped leaking into the air box and burning oil... Jeep Driver
Take the oil filler cap off while it is at idle, if you feel air coming out, being forced out, you have blow-by. Â Chances are the rings are allowing compressed air/gas past them, this pressurizes the crankcase and that pressure is going to come out somewhere, either leaking/weeping seals or out to the intake. DirtyJeepGuy
I'm gunna pull the valve cover completely off today. All those hoses. Degrease it all and clean it out. Then come payday I'm gunna order the new hoses and such for it. (waiting on tax returns to purchase some things for the comanche).

DirtyJeepGuy
Decided to after finally getting my taxes back. I ordered the JCR DIY rear bumper (looks the best imo) and a down and dirty winch bumper with stinger. (If it doesn't look good on the comanche I'll be swapping my slimline bumper over to it from my XJ).
DirtyJeepGuy
Well i decided. Rather then mess with the 2.5l TBI. I purchased a 99 XJ as a donor. Runs and drives great! Uniframe cracked. So ill swap the 4.0 over.
DirtyJeepGuy
I havent posted much. But i have since got a nates4x4 winch bumper for the front. As well as the JCR DIY rear bumper for it. On the hunt for some rubicon 17" wheels for it. Slowly tearing the motor apart when I'm not working. So its less to take it completely out! Hopefully by tonight ill have the head off it. Ill update the pictures soon.
DirtyJeepGuy
I haven't been posting on here much. But I have a complete build thread going on currently on jeep forum. Since then. I have decided rather to repair my 86's frame and cab. I purchased a 1990 that had a 4.0 in it with a solid uniframe/frame for $250. It needs cab corners and rockers. && a drivers floor. It's also a shortbed. But I have a warn front bumper for it. 18" JK Wheels. JCR Rear bumper. Now on the hunt for a bed.
