2.5 question

I am looking at a 4x4 comanche with a 2.5 I am wanting to pull my 16' jon boat around. I can't seem to find a comanche with a 4.0 around here the half way descent. Am I going to regret getting the 4 banger? And I want to run a lift and 32" tires. Thanks

It will handle   your jon boat just fine.

 

I pull 3K lbs with mine......up hill.

Depends on your needs. 32's on it will bog it down. I wish my 4.0 had more power. :)

The wifes tj with a 2.5 is a dog with the 2.5. Have had it for 17 trouble free years though.

It will do what you want, but will be slow doing it.

if that is ok with you then go for it.

As long as you gear it for the 32s you will be fine.

I ran 4.88s with 33s and it was pretty good.

I've pulled a 3k lb trailer with my 2.5 on 31's and it's been fine.  It takes a while to get up to 55mph and you WILL need to downshift to maintain speed uphill, but it will get it done.  Personally, I'm going with 4.56's when I get my 5 speed installed.
