Removing Multi-function Stalk

I have the steering wheel off and the turn signal switch loose and pushed out of the way. Now, how do I get the multi-function stalk off the column? The replacement has a groove that looks like it might take a C-clip, but I can't see that area of the one that's on the column. Does the upper column section have to come off?

If you're referring to the lever , it just pulls out .

Si. Pull it straight out. It won't break.

If you've got cruise control, there is a cable going to it. I can't remember where it plugs in. But yes, grab and pull.
