54bobby
guys, the brake lights aren't working. the hazards are. before i go ahead and buy a brake light switch, what else would cause this? i'll add that i suck at electrical $#!& and have no tester. are there any grounds that would affect only the brake lights? i will add that i just installed a new fey bumper but all other lighting is working as it should. Minuit
Is the switch making good contact with the pedal? Best to start simple. If you listen closely you might also be able to hear it as you're pressing and releasing the pedal.
54bobby
my 87 is non adjustable. besides the switch, is there anything else that would cause the brake lights not to work but the flashers do?

87MJTIM
I had this same problem a few years ago. It turned out to be the turn signal switch. I had running lights, turns and flasher, but no brake lights. (Reverse has not worked in years.)
