over heating problems

I will be driving but not very far but it just over heats fast like what could all be wrong with it to were it would do that

Water pump and thermostat would be what I check first. And do a coolant flush

Clogged system. Thermostat. Waterpump. Head gasket.

 

What motor?

Also get a laser thermometer and make sire the guage is accurate.

Details about your truck are needed (year, engine, make, model) then whats it doing? Hot on the gage, temp light on, boiling over?

I overheated while trying to adjust my programable fans. Thermostat stuck open and made me run to cold, put a new oem thermostat in an going uphills its gets hot. I checked the hose and it seems the tstat is stuck closed. Could be one culprit on yours?
