What is my rear axle

Recommended Posts

I have an 1989 Jeep Comanche SporTruck and I went and had new tires put on it yesterday and the tech and Les Schawbs told me i needed to replace my rear axle bearings. I went to the local parts store and asked for the bearings but to my surprise there is more than one rear end. How can I tell which rear end is it? It's all factory original

Here is a pic that would help....it would not (should not) be the 8.25....will not be the 30.....so it is down to the 35 or the 44......if it is bigger and the cover is really round with no indentations........ then you can have a happy dance.

89 could have 3 different axles. There's a D44, D35 non clip, and D35 c clip, they all use different bearings and seals.

I see you went to Les Schwab so I'm guessing your in the NW, if your close I could tell you exactly whats in there.
