drcomanche
I have a few things that I'm having a real difficult time finding the right one or one in general. I really need new axle seals on my front D44 off a 1977 Ford. I'm doing a full overhaul and my tubes have been leaking since day 1. The other part is the wire connection between my ax15 and the engine wiring harness for my reverse lights. Anybody have any details or parts numbers that I could use for this? Have you checked the axle vent tube to be sure it's clear and venting properly?
87Warrior
For the axle seals, pull the seal and use the microscopic part number on it to search for a replacement. I used the autozone website to cross reference seal and bearings for an old Ford D61 I have.
drcomanche
The axle vent tube is venting as it should. I was hoping to get the part before I dismantled it, that way, I could do it all in one go. Seems I'll be waiting on my axle rebuild for now anyways as it just keeps snowing here. I have to cut my old bracketry before I do any of that stuff.
carnuck
If you search on top of the tube near the pumpkin there is a number string (BOM) that can be used to look up the correct parts. It "should" be SKF 13165 or National 5131 depending on that number. Spicer 44 Axle Thru Serial CE0000 is what covered the '77 F350 crewcab front axle I put in my Jtruck. HOrnbrod
To make it clear, find the Bill of Materials (BOM) for your axle tube using this: Then go to the Dana Expert site below, type in the BOM in the "Axle Bill of Materials" box, and it should give you p/n's for everything in the housing'http://www2.dana.com/expertforms/demenu.aspx?prod=AXL
